Impact Narrative

Grant writes, “I teach social studies, grades 7-12 at a school called Nellie McClung Collegiate. Included in my course load is a grade 12 course on Global Issues, an issue based course where some of the topics focus on overpopulation, consumerism and sustainability. Part of the assessment is developing an Action Plan where the students raise awareness and money for a global or local issue. I also run the school philanthropy group SWAT (Stingers Working at Tomorrow) and we are currently fund raising to help build a school in Kenya through the NGO “Free the Children”. I believe a set of these books would be a great addition to my classes and the extracurricular group and can spur some great discussions and critical thinking. We often publicize our efforts and events in the local newspaper and on our school website and would recognize your contribution on these forums. Thank you.”
