Daniel’s plan for OVER:
“I am an assistant professor focusing on socio-ecology and, among other topics, population growth policy and historical discourse in Israel (with several publications and op-eds on the subject, and – in the past, and hopefully in the future – I have taught courses on population and environment). I would like to request three copies to be distributed as follows:
1) One copy for my library in the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning. As planners, this is a significant topic for future practitioners; As the instructor responsible for teaching environmental sciences and ecological principles to future planners, landscape architects and architects, I would like to be able to refer my students to the book and use it as teaching material for my classes.
2) One copy for the newly initiated Population Growth Discussion Group started last year by my colleagues at the Weizmann Institute of Science. This group (which I do not belong to) is dedicated to convening scientists, students and policy-makers 3-4 times a year to guest lectures and discussion on the topic of population growth in Israel, with the objective of raising awareness and placing the issue on the public policy agenda in Israel.
3) Once copy for Israel’s preeminent environmental journalist, Zafrir Rinat, who, starting in the 1990s, has been a pioneer in addressing the environmental impact of population growth in Israel. I would like to write a review of the book in Haaretz, and if not me, then Zafrir. (I am contacting the Haaretz Book Editor in this regard).”
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
