Elena’s proposal for OVER:
“We carry out a traveling film festival across Mexico that has now expanded globally to more than 20 countries, and currently holds yearly editions in the Mexico, US, El Salvador and Colombia. Every year we include documentaries that deal with population issues, and we organize panels with local experts, planners, decision makers, to whom we would love to award the book and feature it during panel discussions following the screenings. We will also have several collaborations with the Mexico City Government and with “Design Week” in which we will organize a screening and panel discussion. We will work with artists and architects for design week and organize bycicle rides through the city that culminate in a screening. We would also like to award a book to our collaborators in these events and promote more responsible practices in the city. The festival is a non profit organization founded in 2005 by actors Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna , producer Pablo Cruz, and myself, to promote documentaries as a tool for transformation.”
