Elizabeth’s proposal for OVER:
“I have my own book – The Resilience Handbook – coming out soon and would like to take copies of this book around with me as I tour, lecture and provide workshops around community resilience. I challenge population denial and see encouraging an interest in resilience – that is, to be able to survive in a temporary absence of connection to the global infrastructure – as bringing people to see overcrowding as an issue. For example, in the UK we have approaching 70 million people. At best, we could probably feed 46 million at survival level on food we could grow here. I see this as a serious problem and have dedicated the rest of my life to getting this into the open so that a constructive solution can be found before it is too late.
I am a founding director of Community Resilience and Emergency Welfare CIC, which was formed to build on progress with the Resilience Handbook, and your book would feature in activities run through that as well. We don’t allow a no-budget situation to stop us doing stuff, but don’t have much of a web presence for you to view.
Even one of your books would be helpful, but more means that I could pass copies on to groups which I find especially interested and useful to the process. I’ve been sharing it pretty much all week as it seems to be getting the point across.”
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
