Gayle’s proposal for OVER:
“Temple Emanuel Environmental Movement has been hosting monthly environmental events with documentary films, speakers and action items for 9 years. Our audiences range from 70 to over 100 per month. We can host a film which will include speakers and action items. If your organization can provide a power point of the photos in the book we can have a presentation on your work. We would love to educate our community about population: the “elephant in the room”. Our past population events include a presentation with John Seager of Population Connection and a movie, Mother: Caring for 7 Billion. Our TEEM is working to partner with the Forsyth County (NC) Library. I would love for them to have a book.
I am a former member of the Board of Directors of the Piedmont Environmental Alliance (www.PEANC.org) and they focus on educating the public. They host the annual Earth Day Fair as well as other projects. Although I am not on their board, I am still involved and know the Board Members. We have partnered events with them. I am on the Board of the Yadkin Riverkeeper (www.yadkinriverkeeper.org). Population and water are integral issues.
Please share as many books with us as you can. I am, and my groups are, very connected to the community.
Thanks for what you are doing. Population and our consumption is essential to curbing climate change and pollution.”
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
