“My mother used to be a music teacher in government schools in my city. I intend to mobilise all the people she knows in the local education department to distribute the books within these schools, and hold special sessions screening other videos such as this one – http://weareplanetary.com/
I believe change can come about only when the young children growing up today realise what needs to change, and understand the core issues facing the world as a whole.
Most government schools have children from the lower strata of society simply because they provide the only schooling that is affordable anymore. Simultaneously, the kind of environment these children come from makes it most relevant to make them aware of what today’s explosive population growth is doing to our planet.
By seeking out the people my mother worked with during her teaching career, including her students who are now lawyers, social workers, artists, and in the media, I shall try to get this issue into the spotlight, with coverage in the local TV stations and newspapers.”
