Impact Narrative

Rob’s proposal for OVER:

“Used for educational purposes. We live in a relatively isolated community blessed with national parks and impressive natural features on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. We are a working class town with histories of mining and forestry but due to climatic conditions nature often wins and we take a lot of the beautiful natural features we have here for granted. These books would be used in social studies and geography classes to highlight the importance of preserving and celebrating what we have and building a sense of belonging to the unique natural environment we have. So many students have dreams to leave and cross the mountains to the expanding concrete expanses of Christchurch and Auckland – will these books help inspire them to stay here? I hope so!”
