Sarah is a grad student at Iowa State. She plans on returning to high school education or the community college level. She notes that “This issue is very important for our younger generations to be aware of, as they can be a part of the solution!” Sarah will distribute 3 copies of the book on the Iowa State campus, including presenting one to the Aldo Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture, and sharing another with the Margaret Sloss Women’s Center. She will keep another copy that she will use to contruct future lesson plans — and encourage fellow educators in her program to get involved with Speak Out. She notes that “As I learn from the book, I will also share concepts with other organizations on campus to encourage fellow students to read the book and spread awareness of global population issues. For example, I will feature the book on monthly blogs that I contribute for the Margaret Sloss Women’s Center.”
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
