Tess sent us her plan for speaking out on OVER:
“Our organisation is the benchmark agency for natural resource management in Victoria, Australia, working with community groups and landholders. The North Central Catchment Management Authority delivers sustainable agriculture and soils programs, aquatic and terrestrial vegetation restoration projects, river and wetland health projects and floodplain management and planning. This book will be accessed by our 60+ staff and housed within our internal Library, a copy can also be taken to events and field days for public awareness.
We have several innovative events where the books would be a great ‘coffee table’ or display piece to generate discussions including;
-Annual Chicks in the Sticks event; outdoor rural women’s networking event attended by over 120 women per annum
– River Health field days- outdoor activities looking at rehabilitating and protecting waterways for the future
– Farming for Sustainable Soils Annual Soils Forum attended by over 150 people per annum
– Aboriginal Cultural Heritage activities
The book would be a great resource for our education programs to utilize and prompt discussion with University students who are studying topics such as the politics of land management and environmental sustainability.”
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
