US National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month

May 1st, 2015 - May 31st, 2015

  • This event has passed.

The month of May is dedicated to addressing teenage pregnancies in the United States. This awareness month began as an initiative to raise awareness about the high number of teenage pregnancies in the US and to take action to help prevent teen pregnancy through things such as increasing access to comprehensive sex education. Research shows that supportive family members, open communication, comprehensive sex education, and reducing the shame culture that teenage mothers and fathers face contributes greatly to decreasing teenage pregnancies.

If you have a specific National Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month activity you would like featured on the Speak Out site, please contact us to submit your activity.
