Doctor Heidi Marcum is a current professor in the Environmental Studies Department at Baylor University where she earned her undergraduate degrees in both Environmental Studies and Biology. She continued her education to receive her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. Ms. Marcum teaches classes on topics such as animal behavior, wildlife ecology, and animal enrichment.
An educator as well as a researcher, Ms. Marcum’s current research interests include exploration into avian responses to human disturbances, human and wildlife interactions in urban and natural settings, as well as improving the quality of life for many captive species including: sea turtles, snakes and zoo animals. She continues to encourage her students to become more responsible and productive citizens, especially in terms of wildlife protection.
