African Institute for Development Policy

In 2009, the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP), an African-led, regional non-profit policy think tank, was established to help bridge the gaps between research, policy and practice in the areas of population change, public health, and the environment in Africa. The purpose of AFIDEP’s work is to contribute to sustainable socio-economic development by enabling the formulation of policies and program interventions that are informed by sound research evidence in these focus areas.

Center for Biological Diversity

The Center for Biological Diversity believes that the welfare of human beings is directly linked to nature and there is an intrinsic value in diversity. Losing nature and natural resources impoverishes society. The Center focuses on preserving the land, water, and climate that species need to survive through science, law, and creative media.

Foundation for Deep Ecology

Established in 1990, the Foundation for Deep Ecology supports education and advocacy on behalf of wild nature primarily through publications, grant making, and support of campaigns on particular issues affecting the future of nature and people. The Foundation for Deep Ecology believes that the only way to achieve a sustainable environment and end the global extinction crisis is to rethink our societal values. Nature must be seen as a partner and model in all human enterprise in order to attain real and permanent change.

The Millennium Alliance for Humanity and the Biosphere

There are two arms to the Millennium Alliance for Humanity and the Biosphere (MAHB)—a research arm and an action arm that work toward MAHB's mission. MAHB's mission is twofold: Foster, fuel and inspire a global dialogue on the interconnectedness of activities causing environmental degradation and social inequity and the threat of collapse; and create and implement strategies for shifting human cultures and institutions towards sustainable practices and an equitable and satisfying future.

Mulat Pinoy - Kabataan News Network

Mulat Pinoy - Kabataan News Network (MP-KNN) is a youth media program in the Philippines that provides youth with training in media production to tell their own stories about issues they care about. MP-KNN’s goal is for young people to communicate essential facts, figures, and information to their peers using social media and other tools. MP-KNN uses a population and development perspective focusing on the balance of growth and development, and on the fact that young people’s decisions today (on employment, marriage, number of children, etc.) will affect the county’s growth and development in the future. MP-KNN is a program under the Probe Media Foundation, a pioneering non-profit media organization committed to communication for positive social change.

Sustainable Population Australia

Sustainable Population Australia (SPA) (formerly Australians for an Ecologically Sustainable Population) is an Australian special advocacy group, founded in Canberra in 1988, that seeks to establish an ecologically sustainable human population. SPA an ecological group dedicated to preserving species' habitats globally and in Australia from the degradation caused by human population growth. It works on many fronts to encourage informed public debate about how Australia and the world can achieve an ecologically, socially and economically sustainable population.

The Weeden Foundation, established in 1963, works to conserve the earth’s biodiversity. In order to fully address the factors driving biological impoverishment, the Weeden Foundation looks to support research into population growth and the culture of over consumption.
