Tara writes: “Voices for Biodiversity connects the human animal to the global ecosystem. In 2009 witnessing a massive die-off of species around the globe, I needed a place to gather with other like-minded people who wanted to speak out for other species, who had no voice of their own. My need led to the creation of Voices for Biodiversity, an online magazine and gathering place for those who believe that humanity’s health and well-being depend upon the health and well-being of other species and the ecosystems that support us all. Voices for Biodiversity uses the ancient human art of storytelling to connect us with each other, other species, and the natural world. We believe that overpopulation and over-consumption are the primary causes of the Sixth Extinction and we WRITE about it and share STORIES about this. We bring up the topic of carbon legacy, meaning that each individual is responsible for having fewer children and consuming less. We talk about overpopulation, overdevelopment, and overshoot. The American Anthropological Association awarded Voices for Biodiversity the Anthropology in Media Award in 2014. Join your voice with ours by sharing your story or reading our e-zine. Let’s come together to howl, roar, and squawk to help all species survive and thrive together.” She uploaded photos of her speaking out.
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
