Denis Yu’s proposal for sharing OVER:
“Multicultural Week is organised to celebrate the diversity of the student body of the University of Western Australia (UWA) and bring multicultural awareness to the wider community. MCW is a department of the International Students Service (ISS) under the UWA Student Guild. The MCW committee, comprising of over 70 international and local students, are continually working hard to bring you one of the biggest and best Multicultural Weeks yet. We are a group of volunteers, and this year as President of the organisation we want to promote greater awareness for movements such as yours.
I believe that Overdevelopment and Overpopulation are critical issues that are circling our society in its current era and believe that education is so vital and important in empowering younger generations to be smarter about their family choices.
For publicity ideas, we plan to hold seminars that will describe the importance of education and the problems that we are facing today as a society in regards to Overdevelopment and Overpopulation. We will also be conducting a video about educating people, where we will interview people and show that this problem has not be promoted throughout society. Our main aims with the film will be to expand our outreach impact to the local and wider community.
Furthermore our social media outreach strategy involves the use of Instagram, Facebook, twitter our website and our youtube account to promote awareness and raise awareness.
I personally, feel like this is an important problem that is arising in our society, I am both confident that my team and UWA students will be interested and curious in the ways that they can help. It will be a project that continues MCW’s goals this year to promote awareness other than Multiculturalism but other issues as well.”
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
