Impact Narrative

Dora writes:

“As part of the Honors college at University of Texas at San Antonio, I am in a unique position to raise awareness on global issues. The Honors College focuses on doing more for the community, and in May we will doing an exposition to raise awareness on the current issues to do with food. A large part of our expo will be focused on how food production affects the environment and my personal exhibit will be focused on farm animal living conditions. With one of these books at the expo, I will be able to not only talk about the issues facing our earth today, but also show the many photos from the book for a visual impact. This event will be attended by many people and pictures will be taken to put on facebook and share on the campus newspaper.

Over the summer, I will also be volunteering at one of the parks. I would donate a book to the education center so that any people who went to visit would be able to look through the book. The environment is something that I am passionate about and I will continue to raise awareness on this issue through individual and Green club activities. I may be a young adult, but in order to motivate people to do something about their future, it helps to be in the same age group.”
