Impact Narrative

Kate is a high school teacher in the Greater Sydney area and teaches Geography and Science to special education students.

Her proposal for OVER:

“I am also happy to share resources with the mainstream Geography and Science faculties (we do anyway). I am an activist/clicktivist/hacktivist and will talk to everyone about it, because this is what I already do. I usually procure additional copies of such books (eg, Meme Wars which is about consumerism) to share with others too. Happy to receive a book and share it with others. If you send me more, I will get one accessioned to the school library for use by my colleagues, and get one sent to a colleague in another high school…which of course I will be promoting to them. I am happy to develop a unit of work around the book too, which I can share with you when it is done for others to use (middle school level). My geography unit this year is on pressures on water, of which population is part. I am happy to expand on that aspect and bring in other pressures that populations issues bring to bear. Sounds fantastic. This book and the way you are distributing it is an excellent approach. It is time for some significant changes. You can feel it is happening, can’t you????”
