Leyla’s proposal for OVER:
“I read about you and what you have been doing on the newspaper this morning while I was on my way to school. I got excited and wanted to contact you immediately.
I am a lecturer at university and I teach English to a number of students every year. I make use of authentic materials such as articles, pictures, news, pieces from the books, etc. in my classes so that my students can pay more attention to the lesson and learn unconsciously. I prefer using those kind of materials rather than mere course books.
I’d love to do my best to contribute to your organisation by being a volunteer and making more people know about you. And I thought it may be a good idea if I have a copy of your book and show some pictures and parts of the book in my classes to raise awareness in my young students. Moreover, we can use your pictures as a part of our speaking exam at university. As in our speaking exam, the students are supposed to talk about the pictures that are given to them and we especially choose the pictures which reflect some problems. I can film some lessons or speaking exams to make it concrete or to use in the social media in order to reach more people at home/in the world.”
