Maggie writes: “I was an intern with Population Media Center a year ago in which I developed a passion for solving population growth and its effects worldwide. I am now living in Kaua`i working as an AmeriCorps VISTA for the year at Kaua`i Habitat for Humanity. I wish to share the book with my colleagues and other nonprofits on the island. There are many environmental and social nonprofits here who would be interested in seeing the book and sharing it with others on the island. I could take photos of the directors of these nonprofits with the book and their commitment to solve the effects of Overdevelopment, Overpopulation, and Overshoot and send these photos back to the organization. I also would like to try and share the book with Jack Johnson’s foundation, The Kokua Foundation on Oahu. He does work to education youth on environmental issues and it may be something that they could incorporate into the curriculum. Distributing the book across the nation is important to share the important information the book offers and I would be privileged to share the book across our island state of Hawai`i.” Maggie is working with three books.
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
