Nancy’s proposal for promoting OVER:
“The Community General Store is a project to create neighborhood scaled community centers that support people in learning how to live more joyfully with less waste of material resources and the resources of the human spirit. We are working to create our first store in Seattle, Washington, and part of that effort is to bring more awareness to the problems caused by common cultural patterns around “stuff”. We will display your book in our pop-up shop in the basement of Seattle’s Impact Hub, and in the Seattle Impact Hub member library, as well as in the community spaces of other organizations where we do presentations. Alongside your book we will also display information about the opportunities for change that our project will provide. We may also use images from your book as part of the crowdfunding video for our project, this crowdfunding video will be shared through social media, and we will also be reaching out to online news outlets that support similar efforts including Grist, onthecommons, shareable, the story of stuff, and the buy nothing project. After our physical location is funded, built-out, and open to the public we will continue to share your book as part of our circulating collection of objects intended to support these needed cultural changes.”
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
