Impact Narrative

Rachelle writes, “I am a College Instructor and I’ve been trying to inject the issue of over consumption into my lessons (General Psychology and Art Appreciation) to raise awareness. Apart from this, I am also part of Project BookSail, an initiative to help change the dismal state of education in the Philippines. Our mission is both simple and hard: to bring books for schoolchildren in the remote islands of the Philippines. In 2013, we organized a book drive and turned over the books we’ve to Palumbanes Island Elementary School. Because of this project, the school now has its own small library. This year, we’re sailing to Limasawa Island in Leyte (central Philippines) and if I could get copies of the books, I intend to give copies to the university I’m teaching (University of Rizal System) and our target school in Limasawa Island. I also hope to have one for myself so I could share to my friends and family.”
