Tania’s proposal for sharing OVER:
“I am presently doing workshops for children during the school holidays, teaching them the art of reusing. I am doing this voluntarily and the kids can do the workshops for free or donation (if they can) The workshops are held at the Seagull Center a waste minimization center, which saves resources that would normally end up in the landfill. These workshops are also going to expand into adult classes. Because I do this for free I have no money to work with so I have to get creative with available resources at the centre. These books show the reasoning behind what the workshops are all about. While the kids are doing the workshops I wanted to start talking about the bigger issues but dont want to turn it into a lecture. These books would be great for the children to look at…a picture speaks a thousand words…they would evoke the children into begining their own discussions about these environmental issues. The books could also be used for adult workshops, they could be lent to the schools in the area, one could be given to the local library. The books could be used for inspiration for local artists to also create awareness through their chosen medium. I understand there must be thousands of submissions with big ideas, but thought I would try anyway. Thanks for the opportunity I think it is a fantastic thing to do.”
There are many ways to participate! Together, we can raise awareness and bring about change.
