Impact Narrative

Bill’s proposal:

“This book will be used as a resoure to support several school initiatives/groups. We have a student recycling club that leads our school’s recycling program. They are responsible for promoting the importance of recyling and collecting recycables on a weekly basis. This book can be used to show the impact, much being negative, that human consumption is having on the planet and why recycling, conservation, and moderation are vital. We also have a gardening club. This book can be used to support their efforts in gardening (vegetable and plants), campus beautification, and for discussions about the importance of plantings for clean air, food, and habitats. Finally, this book may inspire our student council’s next service learning project. In the past they have done a project for water in Africa, Hurricane relief in Haiti, and a local food drive.

I also feel this book could be used to stimulate my student’s creative and persuasive writing. Students could use a picture of their choice for their writing topic. In summary, I hope this book can be used as an inspiration to my students. To get them passionate about our planet and their role as a global citizen.”
