Dr. Bernadette Roche is an associate professor at Loyola University, Maryland where she teaches courses in environmental biology, evolution and diversity, and ecological genetics. She focuses specifically on plant ecology. Her most recent work has been a study on the genetics of a small mustard plant, Arabidopsis lyrata, the lyre-leaved rock cress, analyzing genetic differences due to local adaptation. Dr. Roche has co-authored several publications on the genetics of resistance among herbivores, and effects of plant hybridization.
