Claire Howe serves as the Humane Educator and Portland Program Director, at HEART which is an organization focused on human rights, animal protection and environmental preservation that emphasizes a compassionate and respectful relationship between human beings, animals and the environment. Claire earned her Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law before joining the inaugural class of LL.M. Animal Law candidates and completing her Masters at Lewis and Clark Law School. While receiving her legal training, Clare spent time in Washington DC working with the Federal Affairs department at the Humane Society of the United States.
She continues her work of almost a decade, as an activist, educator and supporter of social justice projects and animal protection initiatives.
